Before I break down the BDSM elements, I should explain that the submission here is mostly of the non-sexual variety. There is very little sexual activity, and that will show in the breakdown. It's still a charming little story showing the heart of a service submissive.

I'm a bit late but there are a few stories of Preston and Paulo, some in anthologies that follow there relationship after this book. One in Toy Box: Shaving and Toy Box: Prince Albert. I also remember one where Paulo gets his collar. So for me this was kind of going in reverse where after knowing them as an established couple, I finally read how they hooked up.
